Tens of deaths have been reported in battles between inter-cubat forces in the Caucasus region in Southeast Europe.
At the heart of the conflict is the dispute over the control of Nagorno-Karabakh mountain region, the BBC writes, translates Periscopi.
It is known as part of Azerbaijan, but has been controlled by ethnic Armenians since the war ended in 1994.
Tens of thousands had died during that war, and another million had been forced to flee their homes.
Other countries are concerned that this war could bring even neighbouring powers, including Turkey, Russia and Iran.
Authorities in Nagorno-Karabakh, who backed by Armenia, say 31 of their fighters have already died, and that some lost positions had been regained.
Both sides have said they will mobilise more soldiers and have declared the war law in some of the areas.
Turkey has already declared its support for Azerbaijan, while Russia has military bases in Armenia but has recently been friendly with Azerbaijan has called for an immediate ceasefire.
Armenia has accused Turkey of providing direct military support to Azerbaijan, a claim that has been denied by the latter. /Periscope
