Vuciq also said that Pristina's pre-unilateral decision to declare independence has seriously jeopardised Serbia's security and the entire region”.

The ongoing Serbian president in recent years has spoken of a compromise solution for Kosovo, but without giving details about what it expects.

On 4 September, at the White House in Washington, Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, signed an agreement to normalise economic relations. The agreement was signed in the presence of US President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which is mediated by the European Union, has been renewed on 16 July. Prime Minister Hoti and President Vuciq have met for the second time on September 7th.

In this case, according to statements on both sides, topics have been opened for the Association of Serb majority municipalities, for joint financial and property claims, already harmonised positions concerning the issue of the missing, displaced persons, as well as for economic co-operation.
