Unproductive foreign policy, including Serbia

International Law Professor Africa Hoti in an interview says the country has gained a breakdown in international judicial and political image, due to recent developments at the Special Court.

He estimates that Kosovo's foreign policy is pale and counterproductive.

As far as membership in international organisations is concerned, Professor Hoti says Kosovo is stuck in this process.

According to him, this has happened as a result of lack of good governance. He said institutions have never paid due attention.

I think we have no strategy at all because we are really stuck in the process of membership in international organisations. This has come as a result of a lack of consolidated governance within the country. There are a relatively large number of organisations that Kosovo can apply without even being part of UN”.

I don't think our institutions have ever paid enough attention to the care that the country deserves because with such strong support that we have had with 115 recognition, I think it could have done more in UN membership and it would have significantly strengthened the judicial and political position because in the more organisations we're part of, we would strengthen our position”.

And it's a shame that today we're talking about reggressions that some countries are attracting recognition. Depending on the outcome of the negotiations, we will then make informed decisions. We could do more in the numeric sense of recognition and have been able to better coordinate with our friends”.

Even for analyst Ramush Tahiri, it estimates that Kosovo has been penalised on the international level for 10 years now.

Kosovo is currently penalising itself and international missions here. Europe has created an image that Kosovo is gaining independence is gaining freedom and must give something. But Kosovo freedom is the result of the liberation fight”.

At this stage Kosovo is not gaining independence at the table. And at the stage Kosovo should create its own dignity and representation, and it should be a voice in terms of the European Union because with all states it talks about recognition and not about internal regulation. There is no need for a special law that Kosovo would make dysfunctional states”.

According to him, Serbia in this respect is also affecting, which is interested in Kosovo being a dysfunctional state.

He even estimates that Kosovo should be more serious on this level because it is an independent state and has state institutions, EO reports.

Serbia is interested in not leaving Kosovo functional state and Serbia speaking on behalf of all Serbian peoples in Kosovo and on behalf of other peoples.
