US President Donald Trump dismissed speculation Tuesday that he suffered a slight stroke last November when he was hospitalised.
The president's surprise visit to the Walter Reed military hospital sparked speculation at the time for his health, which was denied by a White House doctor.
In a book published on Tuesday, a New York Times journalist claims that during that visit, Vice President Mike Pence, who would pass it under the constitution, was “ready” in case Trump needed anesthesia.
The findings sparked a series of rumors in social media about strokes, but they were not confirmed in the journalist's book.
Trump reacted on Twitter and stressed that he is the victim of false news.
They never stop! Now they're trying to say your favourite president was at Walter Reed Hospital because of attacks on the brain,” he said.
The book does not mention mini-attacks,” answered Michael Schmidt, author of the book “Donald Trump v. The United States: Inside the Struggle to stop a President”.
