The country's president, Hashim Thaci, on the 21st anniversary of the founding of the Kosovo Protection Corps, has said that Kosovo's free dream was experienced on this date.
Thaci has said that “along with Western strategic partners signed the deilitarisation of the KLA, to pave the way 21 years ago to establish the Kosovo Protection Corps, within the construction of democratic institutions and a multiethnic state”.
While remembering that date, she has said she is proud of the travel and transformation of KPC into the Kosovo Army, saying she is ready for peacekeeping missions alongside allies.
After a clear liberation war, along with the Western strategic partners, we lived the dream of free Kosovo. With the same allies, we signed the deilitarisation of the KLA, to pave the way 21 years ago to establish the Kosovo Protection Corps, within the framework of building democratic institutions and a multiethnic state. Proud with the travel and transformation of the KPC into the Kosovo Army, which today is ready for peacekeeping missions alongside the allies, who once helped our release”, Thaci wrote.
