In the course of the investigative group's operational actions regarding the case known as “Karacheva”, the Directorate for Investigation of Kosovo's Economic Crimes and Corruption has arrested two suspects today who on the day of the police operation were not found in their homes.
The suspects have been arrested in allegations that they have consistently dealt with criminal activity “smuggling of goods” from Serbia to Kosovo, with serious damage to the state budget as a result.
After the interview, the competent prosecutor has pronounced the 48-hour ban on procedures to further legal.
Otherwise, 35 people have been arrested, 12 of them policemen, during an action on 18 September in Karacheva in Kamenica, for illegal activities. During the action, all casinos operating in that section have collapsed and various items have been confiscated after allegedly used in their operations.
Kosovo police, the Police Inspectorate and other collaborative agencies have also executed commands in the Pristina region and other locations for the exercise of criminal activities.
