Members of the dangerous group suspected of armed robbery, Leutrim Latifi and Kastriot Shala, who mocked Kosovo police on Friday, have been released from court in regular procedure. As the third person in this group, Ridvan Ademi is awaiting extradition from Belgium to Kosovo.
Two of the three people of the dangerous group, who rocked the country two years ago with armed robbery in banks, casinos and shopping malls, have been released from custody.
The newspaper Insider finds that Leutrim Latifi and Kastriot Shala were released on Friday in regular procedure by the Pristina Foundation Court.
The court changed the measure of arrest to them, where they were since they were in handcuffs, in regular procedure, even though they were considered very dangerous.
Kastriot Shala, Leutrim Latifi, along with Ridvan Ademi, had been sought by police since October 2018 for several cases of robbery. They were even declared by the Kosovo Police, as very dangerous persons.
Although on the run, Shala and Latif made fun of the police request for their arrest. They even had videos from Spain, as they said about their whereabouts.
Police had even offered a 5,000-euro reward for those offering assistance to the site of this group.
Leutrim Latifi was the first of these three men to be arrested. He was chained in February of last year in Montenegro. He was extradited to Kosovo on 24 May and news of his surrender from Montenegrin authorities to Kosovo had given former Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri.
In a major action by the Kosovo Special Unit, on 9 May last year, Kastriot Shala was arrested.
He was arrested at one afternoon in the village of Hajval in Pristina, while a gun was also caught during his arrest, writes Inseder.
Until this group's last fugitive, Ridvan Ademi, from the village of Dobratin of the Podujevo municipality was arrested in the state of Belgium, after more than a year of research.
According to the Kosovo police, Ademi had been found by Belgian police to identify another state, so active co-operation with the authorities of this state for verifying all circumstances, including the tests needed to determine the correct conform legal procedures.
