Full statement:
Over the past few weeks my office has received many questions from journalists about statements made by the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, which in a number of cases has been involved in activities that I believe are meant to undermine management in the right way of justice.
During this time I have also noticed the commendable professionalism and ethical integrity of Kosovo journalists and other public commentators, many of whom have clearly spoken of how such activities undermine rule of law and course of justice.
I want to take advantage of this opportunity to commend Ethics journalists all over Kosovo who have refused to publish the documents they were given, as well as the large number of journalists who voluntarily gave us documents they received from the KLA War Veterans Organisation and have publicly admitted that participation in distributing such information could be a crime under the Kosovo Criminal Code.
The SPS is committed to investigating and prosecuting individuals who commit such crimes, including publishing the identity of individuals who may be called before the tribunal or any information that could lead to their identification.
