Russian vaccine Sputnik V has already sparked controversy worldwide after President Vladimir Putin stated that “operates very effectively”, without providing any details on the study. But now, the country's minister of health said that one in seven volunteers who were part of the vaccine test showed side effects.
Mikhail Murasko said that now, more than 300 of the 40,000 announced volunteers have been vaccinated with Sputnik V. He added that about 14 percent have complained of weakness, muscle pain for 24 hours and an occasional increase in body temperature.
When Russia approved its possible anticontour vaccine in August, some experts raised concerns about its effectiveness due to lack of evidence.
