The new academic year will find the University of Pristina, with new reactors. Chosen in August of this year, Naser Sahiti says he will try to increase the quality of education in this institution.
Sahiti, in an interview for Online Economy, said that in the first place it would be the acceptance of new students, while expressing confidence that pending issues would be carried out over time.
The academic year according to the calendar starts on October 1st of this year. My preparations are more with the team I intend to manage the UP from October 1st from now”.
“While the rest of the preparations belongs to the current management, which will be in office by October 1st. So the question of how the new academic year will start from the moment we get it depends a lot on how much the current management has completed its tasks the way it meets you with a lot of responsibility”.
I have a student issue here in the first place, it's practically a student competition, student admission, but also complete the competitions which are going on because then we're going to be in a difficult position once we get the mandate to deal with issues that should be done in the past”.
According to him, the programme's priority will be the strategic plan approved by the Steering Council, which has to do with improving the teaching and teaching process, improving the quality of studies, and increasing research work.
The priorities of my programme relate to the strategic plan approved by the Steering Council. It is Pristina University management frame”.
Therefore, all priorities are based on this program and have to do with measuring the teaching and teaching process, measuring the quality of studies, increasing research work, then measuring infrastructure, maximum transparency when it comes to budget spending and procurement procedures”, he said.
He added that in no way would they allow political interference at the UP.
We will in no way allow political interference in the UP. In the decision-making process under my management in no way will political interference be allowed. This does not mean that we will not co-operate with institutions, but that there will be political interference”.
Among other things, he said the issue of advancement has been a major problem until three, four years ago.
In fact, according to Sahit, the quality of education is not at the desired level, stressing that there is still room for awe, especially in the matter of plagiarism.
“The issue of advancement has been a major problem until three, four years ago. At that time, I was also a teacher for teaching and student matters, and we've managed to make regulations where we address platforms that are allowed to publish academic staff even where it's not good to find work that the issue is over and we've just implemented it”
It's not possible that everything has improved immediately, but we're on the right track to avoid these phenomena. The quality of education is not desirable. There's space every time. Now we have to see to finally address the matter of plagiarity, especially when it comes to the subjects of the university students of master”.
He even said he would require greater commitment from students and mentors to prevent this phenomenon.
One of the first opportunities, according to him, is for academic staff to focus more on academic work.
The “will certainly be a topic that will be addressed, but we also need to stop with the students asking for greater men's commitment and start preventing this phenomenon. One of the first possibilities is for academic staff to focus more on academic work”.
This means that we will be very rigorous in preventing the staff from working outside the UPP if it goes against the regulation in force”.
This is an initial step, the next steps are increasing UP's co-operation with the economy and institutions so that students are offered more practical work. All of this affects improving the quality of studies”, Sahiti said.
