After Berlin and London, anti-posed protests involved Italy. Thousands gathered in Rome to reject the measures they consider depressing.
The protest took place near the monument “Gage of truth”, one of Rome's most famous places where more than a thousand people waved Italian flags.
Many were opposed to wearing facial masks, which they see as a restriction on personal freedoms.
This emergency was a way to establish dictatorship, not just an Italian dictatorship, but a world. They made us believe that masks protect you, but that's not true because no mask can protect anyone “, one protester said.
Others opposed wearing forced masks for schoolchildren. Children will have to use masks when they enter and leave school as well as in corridors, but they won't be mandatory in classrooms.
I'm here because I think kids shouldn't wear masks in schools. All this alarm is exaggerated” said one protestor.
Among the crowd were members of the far rightist Forza Nuova party, Mother's “People of the Mother” and also anti-vaxin activists.
We remember that Italy is one of Europe's most hit countries with more than 35,000 deaths, while 1,695 new coronary infections were reported on Saturday.
