“A group of protesters attacked the council of ministers who built earlier this morning, set fire and fled,” said today a source at the government's Ministry of Interior in Libya.
Police and firemen soon arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, in which the building's main entrance was destroyed.
Libya has been in chaos since 2011, when dictator Muammar Gaddhafi was overthrown and killed.
Since 2015, Libya has been divided between the two rival rebel governments in the east and the internationally recognised one in Tripoli.
