The Pristina municipality has indicated that the media reported the entire event.
On September 29th, in the evening hours, we have reportedly one of the municipality's workers has been arrested by Kosovo Police, and is on hold for 48 hours. We learned from the media that the same suspect was of misuse of official duty and bribery”, the report said.
Through this announcement, the Pristina municipality has distanced itself from the inspector's actions arrested.
Pristina's “communa is awaiting official information, and will immediately take the necessary actions in line with the Law and procedures. We are sponsored by any illegal action of any worker, and ready for continued co-operation with the law bodies in any case!”, the Pristina municipality's announcement says.
Meanwhile, the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in Pristina has announced that Tuesday it has arrested a Pristina Community construction inspector for bribery.
“Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), the Regional Centre for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (Pristina (NJRHKEK), in 29.09.2020, has accepted the complaining side, which has declared to be the owner of a construction firm dealing with high construction. The complainer shows that he is building an object in a Pristina neighbourhood and that despite the fact that he owns construction permits, he has been banned from a Pristina municipality construction inspector and, according to him, this one is asking for a bribe to allow him to continue his work”, the report says.
Police have reported that the inspectors were found in their bag.
“Day, on 29.09.2020, at five o'clock in Pristina, arrests are carried out in the wake of a suspect who had accepted a sum of money on the part of the complainer. Picked money was found in a suspect's bag. In these acts the suspect allegedly committed criminal acts: abuse of official position or authority and bribery. The suspect has been interviewed in the presence of the defence attorney, and following consultation with PTH-Pristina's attorney, the same with a decision to stop suspects has been sent to the detention for 48 hours”, police report said..
