“Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), the Regional Centre for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (Pristina (NJRHKEK), in 29.09.2020, has accepted the complaining side, which has declared to be the owner of a construction firm dealing with high construction. The complainer shows that he is building an object in a Pristina neighbourhood and that despite the fact that he owns construction permits, he has been banned from a Pristina municipality construction inspector and, according to him, this one is asking for a bribe to allow him to continue his work”, the report says.

After the tip, the police arrested the inspector with the money in his bag.

After obtaining information, he takes all necessary investigative actions with the aim of verifying information that the complainer provides, the simulation of criminal work is provided (money insurance, picture of money to be used for simulation). Yesterday, on 29.09.2020 p.m. at five o'clock, the arrest in Pristina takes place in the wake of a suspect who had accepted a sum of money on the part of the complainer. Picked money was found in a suspect's bag. In these acts the suspect allegedly committed criminal acts: abuse of official position or authority and bribery. The suspect has been interviewed in the presence of the defence attorney, and following consultation with the PTH-Pristina attorney, the same with a decision to stop suspects has been submitted to the detention for 48 hours”, police report said.
