The American Economic Oda in Kosovo has welcomed the signing of the agreement for economic normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia, which will create opportunities for strengthening the private sector and opening the potential of both countries for accelerated economic growth.

According to the OEC, normalising economic relations between Kosovo and Serbia paves the way for the country for further development, providing new opportunities for increased goods exchange, attracting foreign direct investment, as well as full economic integration into the Western Balkan region.

“Education of economic issues will help both states in terms of economic growth and job creation, while investments in railway and road infrastructure, as well as operation of integrated border crossings, will facilitate movement of people and goods. The American Economic Oda re-exemplifies that strengthening Kosovo's economic relations with neighbouring states contributes to improving the country's image, while welcoming today's agreement as a very important step towards the country's much-needed economic advancement”, the communiqué says.
