Important News for Those Who Want to Go to Germany

Here's what you need to know about the last rules to travel to Germany from outside Europe. While residents of EU countries, plus the United Kingdom, Iceland and Norway are able to travel freely to Germany at the moment, Berlin still has strict rules for those travelling from outside the EU due to the coronary pandemic.

There are some restrictions within the EU. People coming from certain regions that are listed as the <x0zone at risk” due to actual explosions are forced to go straight to quarantine when they arrive in Germany.

Since mid-July, a list of countries is slowly growing, from which it can travel without restrictions. The interior ministry explains these exceptions because of the low degree of coronary infections.

These are: Australia, Georgia, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay.

There are also three Asian countries with which Germany is currently negotiating with reciprocal agreements. This is Japan, South Korea and China.

Any other non-EU state is still considered a danger zone. That means you're allowed to come to Germany only if you have a fundamental reason to do so.

What is an essential reason?

Students and people in practice learning programs are allowed to enter the country as long as they can show they cannot complete the course through distance instruction.

You are also allowed to visit a member of a key <x0-family”. That means marriage mates are allowed to visit each other, while minor children are allowed to visit parents and vice versa.

People who have refugee status are also allowed to bring their family to Germany.

Furthermore, you are allowed to visit a family member “no-subsertial” (e.g. if there is a compelling reason to do so. The list of persuasive reasons includes births, marriages, deaths, funerals, and serious illness.

Some jobs are also classified as essential at the moment.

Doctors, nurses, and stewards are all allowed to travel to Germany, as are medical researchers.

You are also allowed to perform a job that is considered essential to the German economy and that you cannot do at a distance. Scientists, IT specialists and people employed in managing a company are excluded here.

Diplomats and employees of international organisations are also exempt from the travel ban.

People working in the cargo business, whether on trains or on ships, are also allowed to enter Germany.

What happens when you get there?

People from endangered areas must undergo a free test of the coronary. If the test is negative, they should not switch to 14-day quarantine.
