Mustafa talks about Greenell meeting and other issues

The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, said the current visit by Greenelli and the US delegation is to implement and harmonise projects which are in the agreement signed on September 4th at the White House between Kosovo and Serbia with the mediation of the United States of America.

LDK head Isa Mustafa in an interview given to Kosovo Press has also spoken of criticisms against the Hoti Government over the agreement signed in Washington, as well as the reopening of the EU Association theme.

Mustafa has shown that Grenelli will not meet with LDK officials and some other party, has added that he appreciates today's visit since, according to him, it shows that Americans are willing to support the agreement concretely.

This time Grenelli with the delegation of American investors comes primarily for implementation of the agreement and for harmonising projects that are in agreement, it is not pre-priced to have political meetings with either LDK or others as far as I know. There'll only be meetings with Government. [...] I appreciate it's a very good step because it's shown that Americans have not only been willing to mediate an agreement but are now willing to support that agreement very concretely in its implementation, which is material implementation”, Mustafa told Kosovas.

Regarding the agreement signed in Washington, he was sharply criticised, especially at the point of Lake Weyman, which Mustafa says criticisms have been uncontested.

The deal was not made for the division of Uyman, it was not made for Uyman's property, it was made only for the most efficient use of the Lake of Ujman”, Potencoi Mustafa.

Mustafa has also spoken of the recognition of Kosovo by Israel, with whom cçrast has stressed the importance of this recognition and its economic impact.

The procedure of establishing diplomatic relations moves on its own, is done through notes which the Kosovo government will exchange. Days earlier Kosovo President Hashim Thaci directed criticism of the country's prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, over the opening of association in Brussels, calling it a major and dangerous mistake for the Government of Kosovo.

What makes Mustafa as well as Hoti deny that association was the topic of discussion in Brussels.

The LDK chairman, the party leading the country, has said that in Brussels it has been proposed to discuss the Association statute, but, as he says, the Kosovar side has refused to become such a discussion. While for Thaci's statements he said the president himself had negotiated the Association line.

The “has not been a topic of discussion, but has been proposed by the parties in Brussels to discuss the Association statute. The Kosovo side has declined this time to discuss Association, what will be done later, how this will be harmonised with the European Union mediators is another issue because arguments must be found. But I see no reason in the statement the President's Office has issued why, because President Thaci himself has negotiated the agreement on the Association line, the first agreement. Because the first agreement on the first six points is about establishing association. That government itself has introduced the law for ratification of the pre-Representation agreement of the Republic of Kosovo, and the Assembly has adopted it. Therefore, we cannot say that it is now dangerous for this government to negotiate something or to speak of something that the previous government has taken office or made a commitment to the country, and it is unfair that the problem is then carried by Mr. Hoti or the government on burdens because there is a law to ratify that agreement. If the Assembly and all parties in the Assembly say no, then all those parties will take on the obligation that we are reviewing the law for ratification of the agreement and reconsidering it by 2/3. Because as long as the law is in force, the law must be implemented”, Mustafa said

Mustafa agrees to have negotiated the Association Agreement made in 2015, but says he negotiated only the principles, not the foundation. Nevertheless, he says Thaci cannot say that Hoti dares not dialogue even that the prime minister should dialogue on something.

Each of us has worked, I've worked, I've negotiated the 2015 agreement on principles, life, not foundation that it was set up two years ago. But I can't say now I haven't been, all the jobs I've done I publicly admit to doing, but I've done it to live up to the law for ratification of the agreement. Neither can Thaci now say that Mr. Hoti dares not dialogue in Brussels for Kosovo's internal affairs, in Brussels is not the delegation, which the dialogue for Serbia's internal affairs, but dialogue for relations that should be clarified between Kosovo and Serbia by giving no part of the country's sovereignty or territory but by finding a solution that works so that Serbia can accept Kosovo and Kosovo-Serbia. But it is by no means to meet the Parliament and toʹria gets the prime minister's right to dialogue in Brussels, because he has to dialogue something, therefore it is not principled and it is not in order. Because through this no one can benefit politically. I think there is a tendency of political benefits and proclamations of people who are betraying Kosovo or harming Kosovo”, Mustafa stressed.

Prime Minister Hoti's actions, according to Mustafa, brought Kosovo back to Washington and Brussels. And he also says that the opposition tends to blame Hoti Government without reason.

I am very convinced that Hoti by his actions has done good to Kosovo because he has returned to the international agenda and restored Kosovo to Washington, where he has been back for the past three years and has returned to Brussels where we have not had any relationship for three years, and that is good for Kosovo and not at its expense. We have an opposition tendency that without reason blames the Hoti Government because you cannot say Government Hoti has sold Kosovo's interests or made arrangements in Washington against Kosovo's interests. It's easy to say, but arguing is difficult. Because Kosovo during these years since it was founded as a state by the US has followed only support, goods and support. Just as we have had support from the countries of the European Union and can't by blaming our government to stain Washington and the U.S. because it is a country that has suddenly recognised us or question the parts of the agreement that have been carried out in Washington”, Mustafa said.
