A month's detention for casino owner in Karacheva

The Constitutional Court in Gjilan has approved Gjilan's Constitutional Prosecutor's request, assigning the detention measure for a month to indictees D. H.

According to the court's announcement, there is doubt based from September 2019 until September 18, 2020, at the “Automate Club”, which was in the border zone between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia, respectively, in the village of Karatcheva and Post of the Kamenica municipality, the defendant, with the aim of illegally benefiting and in opposition to the Law of the War Games 06/L55, has illegally organized the games of fate, so that there are enough circumstances to show whether the defendant is found in the same case, or any other criminal work could be done again.

“With these actions the defendants allegedly committed criminal work “organising pyramid schemes and illegal gambling”, the work sanctioned with the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (KPRK)”, the statement said.

The judge of preliminary procedure in the General Department, after reviewing the subject paperwork, has considered the legal conditions for imposing the detention measure against the defendants, while other alternative measures would be insufficient for successful development of the criminal procedure.

The sides have the right to appeal to this decision at the Court of Appeals.
