The mass action of the Kosovo Police has already ended in the village of Karacheva in Kamenica.
Only in Karacheva have over 17 police officers been arrested for illegal game of fate, smuggling, trafficking with human beings and so on.
Public television, referring to their sources by police, reports that over 250 police officers have been involved in the action.
About 500 Kosovo Police officials have been mobilised tonight in a mega-operation to hit crime and corruption in the border area of Karacheva, where it is suspected that for a long period of time, trafficking has been exercised with human beings, prostitution, smuggling, organising game and misuse of official duty.
It is learned that this mobilization in these sizes comes from a long investigative work led by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan, assisted by the Kosovo Police Inspectorate and the Kosovo Police, which has revealed that the Karacheva area has been used as a safe crime nest.
In support of this action, Kosovo Tax Administration and Kosovo Customs have also been taught to be on alert.
We remember that, according to Interior Minister Agim Veliu's statement, this action was planned to be organised in February, but according to him, the same was not approved by former Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
