Political Affairs Editor Shkelzen Maliqi comments on LVV President Albin Kurti's statement, which said he and Vjosa Osmani will get over 50 %s of the vote in the upcoming elections.
Maliqi says this is impossible, as results received by Osman and Kurti, in the 6 October elections are also the votes of parties they are part of.
He says Vjosa Osmani can't personally bring more than 25 thousand votes, which he would not secure Kurt as much as 40%.
It's hard to predict how much of Albin Kurti's combined vote and Vjosa Osmani will rise while it is not yet known whether they will be on a common list, or race with two subjects, divided. In both cases, a total collection of votes that were taken individually by October 5th 2019 as the leader of the VV and LDK lists cannot happen, because a large portion of those votes are behind the voter's performance towards respective parties, and it is unimaginable that Vjosa Osmani will be cut off from LDK 180 thousand votes to add the VV victory sausage over 50%. Realistically, the forecast is that Osman to bring the VV about 25 thousand maximum votes, which he does not provide Kurt as much as 40%, because even the competing parties will not stand without counteraction in creating coalitions to increase vote”, he has declared for the newspapers blc.
As for holding elections, Maliqi says it is unlikely to happen before the spring of 2021.
Maliqi predicts dynamic developments on the political scene during this period of time.
He emphasises dialogue with Serbia could empower Avdullah Hoti, casts LVV in shadow as well as envisions a union PDK-NISMA.
“The elections will probably not take place before the spring of 2021, and by then it is likely to consolidate if not the current coalition, then the effect of the positiveness that has resulted from Avdullah Hoti in reports with the US and the EU, because by then there may be significant developments about the agreement with Serbia that will lose influence to Albin Kurti, and reinvigorate Hoti, LDK but also if PDK is reunited with Fatmir Limaj Initiative. The political scene in Kosovo is in the phase of dynamic and non-static developments, forget the security of the 6 October” hope, he says.
Days ago he was LVV chairman Albin Kurti, who declared that along with Vjosa Osmani, they will win over 50% of the vote.
Even Parliament Speaker Vjosa Osmani, after being expelled from party structures, has said she left the LDK.
