Education Minister Rame Likaj says there is information that institutions in northern municipalities have started teaching even though central authorities have decided that this will not be done until September 14th. For this, Likaj said it is 20-year-old politics and that they have no opportunity to make changes with magic wands.
These statements, Likaj made during his visit to the school “Peter Bogdani” in Pristina, along with representatives of the SBASK and the director of the DKA in Pristina, Hope Shala, saw closely the preparations being made at this institution for the start of the new school year.
Education Minister Rame Likaj has announced that in Kosovo's 30 municipalities, preparations are under way for the start of the new school year and that the majority of them are working at maximum in this respect.
He promised support for all educational institutions, stressing that several schools have visited the northern part a few days ago, however, stated that this part has started teaching online on the basis of the Government of Serbia programme.
“The Ministry of Education, the Government of Kosovo, is the government of all its citizens. We've got information that they've started learning online. This is a 20-year-old policy that hasn't been solved. We don't have the wand. We're also doing our best for them”, he said.
The SBASK chairman, Nundman Jashari, said that the selection of schools today has been done by chance, and, among other things, expressed satisfaction with the preparations that have been made at this school.
“over these two weeks and other schools and educational institutions in Kosovo, I believe they will be prepared and on September 14th to successfully start the new school year”, he said.
Asked about his statements that even after two weeks the lesson could be postponed, Jashari said it would be the scenario if no necessary preparations were made but that these preparations are taking place across the country.
These statements have been related to questions asked by the media about what if the preparations are not made. The answer was natural, if no preparations were made we would have come up with an appeal. Not only in Pristina but also in other municipalities are preparations being made, and if this activity continues, then the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo will be ready”, he has declared.
According to the DKA director in Pristina, Hope Shala, the Pristina municipality has made all preparations for the start of the new school year on September 14th. According to her, 46 educational institutions have been renovated during the summer months.
“The contract is signed and the carrying of all materials in the process is involved in guidelines from the Ministry of Education. We also got information on the number of students who have health problems. Schools have been equipped with disinfectant and are carrying other equipment. We have also made renovations during the summer period in 46 educational-educated institutions to improve sanitation and sanitation conditions throughout the Pristina municipality”, she said.
She pointed out that the number of children in the nursery is 50 percent smaller than they are registered during this time until they have been released from payments.
