Khan believes that the British capital is just two or three days behind hot coronary hearths in England.
He called on the government to impose restrictions on bars and restaurants and plans to order Londoners to work from home.
The number of cases for 100,000 people over seven days increased in London from 18.8 to about 25 at the beginning of the week.
Asked whether Londoners could be ordered to work from home, Health Minister Matt Hancock said he would not rule out that.
He said he was a highly concerned “for the latest data suggesting that Britain could be on the same path as Spain and France, where the number of deaths and hospital stays is increasing without effective action.
