Well-known lawyer: Four policemen against a citizen, no physical violence

The event that Periscop reported last night has sparked major reactions across the country. Four policemen are seen exercising physical violence over a man and children. All of this happened as a result of not wearing a mask by suspect B.S.

Kosovo police in a statement for Periscopi say the suspect has offended, threatened, and then raised hands on officials wearing the blue uniform. The suspect's move has brought the situation out of control and to achieve physical violence.

The act, expressed by police officials, does not necessarily justify the renowned lawyer, Fehmije Gashi-Bytyqi.

The lawyer says that although Kosovo citizens are obliged to respect and enforce the law against Covid, in this case the action of police officials is misuse of official office and authority.

Despite the fact that Kosovo's citizens are obliged to enforce the antiCondavid law, last night's police action in terms of arresting a citizen in the presence of women and children, I consider it a violation and misuse of the official authority the law has given to the Kosovo Police itself.

On the other hand, Gashi-Bytyqi disagrees with the KK statement saying: "At some point he (the suspect) has raised his hand towards police officials where the same are forced to use the necessary force, proportionally, of hands to bring the suspect under control."

The lawyer sees the video, claims there was no proportion between police and suspects.

Despite the fact that KP has been suggested that violence in proportion has been used as he has used (the suspect) against police and police officers against him, it is not because the number of policemen has been 4 to 1 and they are trained and educated in how to find ways to come to arrest a person. According to Gashi-Bytyqi, four police officers should start investigating under procedures under the Kosovo Police Law since, according to her, the four have misused official office.

As far as I read, the person has been arrested for obstructing the performance of officials, I consider that police officers who have carried out this action should now be subjected to procedures under the law of the KP, the lawyer for Periscope concludes.
