At the first constitutional session after the general elections, Montenegrin Parliament deputies voted for the post of new Speaker of the Parliament, in which the deputy from the coalition's ranks “peace is our” nation, Alexa Beciq, while the mandated for Montenegrin prime minister was proposed to be Zdravko Krivokapic, who heads the coalition “for the future of Montenegro<3>.
Even though Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists won the most votes in the August 30th elections, the coalition of three opposition parties secured the majority in the 81-seat parliament. A non-small clash has recently developed between opposition parties for the so-called <x0-> high security”: Interior Minister, Defence Minister and the head of the Intelligence Agency.
The coalition of “Zeza on White” led by Dritan Abazovici has demanded that they be the ones to propose leaders of these institutions.
The three parties that will form the government have signed an agreement under which Montenegro will continue reforms needed for EU membership to strengthen alliances with NATO members. Similarly, the coalition agreed not to withdraw the decision to recognise Kosovo as an independent state.
