The files containing information on the indictment for President Hashim Thaci, PDK Chairman Kadri Veselini and the former UCK leadership, Azem Syla, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi, Xhavit Haliti, etc. have arrived at the offices of the KLA Veterans Organisation.
The lawyer licensed by the Special Court in Kosovo, Arian Koci, says he has launched a <x0 war> against this court, while the KLA Veterans' Organisation says it is a “viktime” in the case.
According to Ariani Koci, he did not explain who is behind this war, but all that he said would hurt Kosovo's image. Koci commenting on the alleged files that they are charges against former KLA judges, says the Special Court itself has not denied or accepted these files as authentic.
However, documents that may not be authentic also create a problem in public opinion since the names of protected witnesses are being discussed, and for this reason, the Special Court has obtained all these files”, the lawyer told Euronews.al.
Arianian Koci further said that the media in Kosovo have not published content of the file, but that is what has begun to be done by the media in Albania, comparing the situation with that of Edward Snowden.
He stressed that there is a ban on publishing these documents because in case we have protected witnesses killed, then the sentence is at least 10 years in prison for those who published them.
For the Special Court, he said it has opposed its establishment and its functioning is damaging Kosovo's image.
The “is a very strange structure, it is the Kosovo court where the entire staff is foreign”, he said.
The Special Prosecutor's Office says that it is committed to investigating and prosecuting individuals who commit such crimes, including publishing the identity of individuals who might be called before the tribunal or any information that could lead to their identification while accusing the KLA War Veterans Organisation, which they think is involved in activities meant to undermine administration in the right manner of justice.
