The deputy of the Christian Democrat Party in Sweden, Magnus Jacobsson, has said the results he has seen in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia has led him today to propose for the Nobel Peace Prize, the US, Kosovo and Serbia.
For a time I have been following the situation in the Balkans, especially in Kosovo and Serbia, and I am very familiar with the post-war situation. I'm an academic and a historian, and my view is that when business and travel are connected, you'll have more easily to overcome conflict and go to peace”, Jacobsson said about Klan Kosova.
I think this is a very good step, even though it's not a 100% peace deal but an economy deal, it's still a good step”.
He has said that by his move he has wanted to show Europe that in the Kosovo- Serbia has some achievements.
I want to raise the issue by telling Europe that certain achievements between Kosovo and Serbia are taking place because I in the Swedish parliament have raised the visa issue for Kosovo. I think this is the first achievement and it should be shown that there are positive steps in this direction, I don't know what the Nobel Committee is going to decide, but the issue has been raised by making this proposal”.
My <x0Ide is also from what I studied at the university that good ties and good relations, between business, travel and solid peace, I think that Kosovo and Serbia, despite problems, will manage the situation by starting these economic relations and I think the next round could be a very good step for peace. So I've taken this initiative but I don't know how the Nobel Committee will expect, but I still want to raise this issue because I think that any progress in Kosovo-Serbia relations should be raised as a matter of”.
