The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, has responded to Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti, who said Sunday that the LDK and PDK are fearing new elections at the level of Kosovo, but also in municipalities.
Mustafa in a written response to the newspaper Objective has said the VV head does not need new elections with the governing mentality he has shown during his mandate.
It's natural that Mr. Kurt wants elections, but I think nothing needs elections with the governing mentality that reflected as it was at the head of the government. And not with the insult disk of Prime Minister Hoti”, Mustafa added.
According to Mustafa, the country does not need new elections, as Hoti Government is doing good work for Kosovo.
“We have a prime minister we are doing good work for Kosovo, inside and abroad, so it is in the country's interest to continue to government with the country”, Mustafa has added.
As for removing red lines with PDK, Mustafa says he has not stated that the LDK has removed red lines for the party.
According to him, removing them is located in his party's bodies.
I said exactly, the red lines should be removed for any subject. But for removing red lines for the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the party's bodies are in place, Mustafa has said.
The LDK leader thinks there should be no red lines in the future for political subjects, but only for individuals who have trouble with the law.
The future red lines would have to be applied to individuals who have problems with law, crime and corruption, while not to subjects who voted citizens”, Mustafa said.
Mustafa has also spoken briefly on the issue of electing the new Kosovo president.
He said they have not yet talked with AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj, who the previous day said that unless agreement on the president's post is reached, the country must go to early elections.
Mustafa says he has not discussed this topic even with the LDK structures.
“We have not talked about the post of president with him or LDK”, Mustafa concluded.
