Kosovo's state co-ordinator for dialogue with Serbia, Skender Hyseni, has announced from Brussels on Sunday that there is an approach to the Serb and Kosovo sides' positions for reaching a comprehensive agreement on mutual recognition. The “we're close, today there's been a little constructive exchanges, attitudes, thoughts and there's still a lot left to round tomorrow at a high level. Tonight we will discuss issues that remain more controversial. There is visible approach to what I'm calling elements of a comprehensive agreement for mutual recognition”, Hyseni said.
Asked by journalists whether there is optimism that until tomorrow, at leaders' meetings come to the conclusion of issues involving the missing, displaced and economic co-operation, Hyseni said there is an approach and that, according to him, it is not a matter of particular agreement, are principled pledges that address these topics in a confidence environment after signing the comprehensive agreement.
There has been an agreement on the first high-level meeting to address financial claims from both sides, while we are unaware of the association, but this is a type of dialogue that does not prejudge or presuppose the possibility that each side will draw a topic on the table and we are willing to discuss any subject that appears on table”, he said.
On 7 September, at EU headquarters, a new round of dialogue will be held at the highest political level attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.
This meeting comes after signing the economic normalisation agreement on 4 September in Washington on both sides.
Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia resumed in Brussels on 16 July.
At meetings recently held in Brussels, it has been discussed for the displaced, the unemployed and economic co-operation.
