This is the highest daily number of cases in the Central European country since the beginning of the pandemic and is 25 percent higher than the previous record 716 cases per day, writes The Guardian, broadcast The Express.
Hungary's prime minister, Viktor Orban, has taken a less generalised approach to pandemic during the second wave, because restrictions measures have more determined on individual cases.
Through a statement published on the Facebook network Saturday, the Hungarian government chief said the goal is not only to save people's lives, but also to preserve the country's functioning.
During this year's second quarter, Hungary's economy contracted by 13.6 percent, the highest figure in the region.
Prime Minister Orban had secured exclusive power in a period of pandemic, justifying additional competencies with the need for control of the situation.
