US Hoti speaks of joint projects with MCC director

With him, he has talked about co-operation and implementation of joint projects with Kosovo.

The prime minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, under official visit to Washington, has met today with the Executive Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (Millenium Challenge Corporation- The MCC, Sean Caircross, who has talked with him about the co-operation and implementation of joint projects between the Government of Kosovo and the MCC from the Kompact and Thresold programmes.

In this case, Prime Minister Hoti has expressed the Kosovo Government's readiness to meet all conditions, which enable the achievement of common goals and the life of these projects.

Prime Minister Hoti said, too, that the Government of Kosovo highly appreciates the MCC's commitment to the completion process of the Kompack Programme for Kosovo, and that it is very important to stress that projects involved in the development of programmes “Compact<1> and “Theshold” are jointly identified by MCC staff and the Government of Kosovo and as such, these programmes are fully supported by the government.

Thanks to the US and the MCC for continued support, Prime Minister Hoti said the Government of Kosovo, given the importance that the MCC projects have for the country's economic development, meeting long-term needs and improving energy infrastructure, improving air pollution and other issues, would be committed to meeting the conditions and implementation of projects as quickly as possible.

Prime Minister Hoti, on this occasion, said that despite the situation burdened by the pandemic COVID-19, the Government has taken concrete steps to meet the necessary reforms and economic recovery programme has seen the allocation of 10m euros as credit guarantees for the private sector and renewable energy, as well as supporting projects for women entrepreneurs.

While, MCC Executive Director, Mr. Caircross expressed its readiness for further co-operation with the Government of Kosovo in implementing priority projects, which will help the country's economic development and enable the realisation of MCC grants to civil society on various projects.
