Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti said progress has been made in drafting the final agreement, which according to him must be legally binding.
He has said after meeting with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, in Brussels on Monday, that he will continue to apply the principle that he will not agree to anything until agreed to the final agreement, which should also bring mutual recognition among the countries.
“In line with the pledges we have received from the Paris Summit before Chancellor Merkel and President Macron to enter into the process of dialogue, today the second high-level meeting with the Serbian side is held to work on the final, general, legally binding agreement for full normalisation of relations, which should lead to mutual recognition. We are only in Brussels on this issue, to show our constructiveness as governments, that we are willing to move forward. I would like to thank Mr. Borrell of Mr. Lajcak and the work of our two teams on approach. I gladly say that progress has been made in drafting the final agreement between the two states for full normalisation of relations. We will continue at other meetings with other topics that need to be addressed, each we discuss is part of the final agreement, always applying to the principle that we don't agree on, until we agree on the final agreement”, Hoti said before reporters in Brussels.
Hoti has also been asked about the EU's response to Kosovo's promise to open its embassy in Jerusalem. According to him, this issue has not been discussed.
