Videos show a large column of black pitch going to the sky of the Lebanese capital, writes Independent, translates Periscopi.
Michel el-Murr, head of the Fire Department and rescue team, which was on the scene, said that the burning port area had no workers.
Screaming with instructions for his team, he said he called for backup.
