According to Lucrini police, a number of people working at the shipyards have been checked. Police to realise the checks, in this case have co-operated with the Cantonal Industrial and Trade Inspectorate, as well as with the Migration Office (Amigra).
In all, six people - all laborers with assembly bars - had no valid work permits. That is why they were arrested by police.
Two of them have been identified with forged identity documents. Five of these six people, the Office for Migration (Amigra), has expelled them from Switzerland and banned them from entering the entire Schengen area for two to three years, albinfo.ch records. All six people -- from Iran, Serbia and Kosovo, aged between 20 and 38 -- were employed by companies with headquarters in Switzerland. Having been illegally employed, their management directors will be reported due to various violations of the Law for Foreign and Integration (AIG).
Investigations are being conducted by public prosecutors in Lucen and Sursee.
