The Hoti government has reacted after the criticism of opposition parties, that 100 days of governance have been a failure. The Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic Party of Kosovo have estimated that the Hoti Government has failed to manage the COVID-19 pandemic and that it has not been successful in the dialogue process with Serbia.
Xhavit Beqiri, Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti's adviser, in a statement on Telegrafi has said the decisions they made during the COVID-19 pandemic have been in line with IKSHPK.
Any decision made during the pandemic has been made in co-operation and consultation with the National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo and with KKUK, always passing on the protocols of the World Health Organization. The government Hoti has come to the aid of citizens, small and medium-sized businesses to cope with this difficult situation of COVID-19”, he has said.
Beqiri has further said that the Hoti Government has unblocked Kosovo from isolation, which, according to him, had been introduced by the Kurti Government.
“As far as external relations are concerned, we have inherited a paradoxical state, where we have almost no reports either with Albania, a total closure of Kosovo. And for less than three months, we have managed to bring Kosovo back to its place, the world's largest tables, including the White House, the Presidential Palace in Paris and Brussels. So we can say that we have unblocked Kosovo from the isolation the preliminary government had introduced”, he has indicated.
The prime minister's adviser ultimately stressed that opposition criticism is normal in a democratic society.
Otherwise, the Hoti Government has marked its 100-day job, while criticism of these months of governance has been made by LVV and PDK, which have reiterated their demand for new elections.
Vetevendosje Movement spokesman Progress Kryeziu in a statement issued for Telegrafi had said the Hoti Government is the minority government.
It currently has less than 60 deputies in the Assembly, there are only 40 Albanian deputies, and there is no 1/3 of citizens' support expressed by free vote on 6 October. The same, in the face of the multiple crisis, failed to address citizens' needs until it was very effective in adopting Serbia's demands in relation to the Republic of Kosovo. These 100 days mark the difference between good legitimate governance that fought crime and corruption, managed well with the pandemic, and began to decapitate the state from abuse, with that of an illegal government removing reciprocity from Serbia, failed completely in the management of pandemic, and resumed the capture of public companies”, it was declared.
Similarly, PDK has confirmed that Hoti Government is a government that has no political stability.
This period of Prime Minister Hoti's 100-day government was characterised with failure in the management of pandemic, where Kosovo scored among the highest cases in the world in the number of infected and per capita deaths. Kosovo was placed on the blacklist of citizens' travel from most countries in the region and European ones. This government also failed to provide assistance to the economy and to the citizens of the country by not fulfilling the promises of economic recovery for the future. This government is proving to be among the governments with fewer representatives in these 20 years of democracy, even because of political instability from continuing clashes and threats within coalition partners”.
