The company's scientific operations responsibility told reporters Wednesday that the vaccine was injected to 60,000 people in 215 different locations in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and South Africa.
Dr. Stolels said Johnson & Johnson went to the third phase of clinical trials, as he saw positive results during the first and second phase in the US and Belgium.
Johnson & Johnson's vaccine is the fourth potential vaccine against Coronavirus that is undergoing the large-scale clinical testing process in the United States, along with vaccines being tested by modernna companies AstraZeneca and a German-based Pfizer and BioNTech company co-operation vaccine.
All four efforts are part of a programme by President Trump's administration to help and accelerate the development process, production and distribution of vaccines against COVID-19. The goal is to produce 300 million doses of an approved vaccine by January 2021.
Because it can be taken in a single dose, company vaccine Johnson & Johnson has considerable advantage over three other vaccines, which require two doses to guarantee efficiency.
