Accusing Azerbaijani of air and artillery attacks, Armenia reportedly crashed helicopters and destroyed tanks after it declared military law.
Azerbaijan says it has launched a counter-offensive response to grants, the BBC writes, translates Periscopi.
The region is recognised by internationals as part of Azerbaijan but is controlled by ethnic Armenians.
They broke up in the last years of the Soviet Union. Armenia and Azerbaijan were also part of the communist state, which attempted to suppress religious and ethnic differences.
After the fighting, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said he is confident he will regain control in that region. /Periscope
