After two minutes of honouring the 640 health workers who died during the coronary pandemic began walking through the “Trafagar” Square.
Protesters were seen holding in their hands banners that were written “Stop your applause, start payments”, priceless but cash-free “and “640 dead health workers, blood in their hands”.
The nurses were excluded from a salary hike for about 900,000 public sector workers in July because they are in the last year of a three-year deal.
This year's salary increases are not even valid for doctors because they reached four-year agreements with the government last year.
Protesters demanded a 15 percent salary increase. In addition to London, protests by health workers were held in Manchester, Sheffield, Brighton and Bournebowth.
