Montenegro's President Milo Djukanovic says there is always a reason to celebrate the winner, but this holiday always means a civilized attitude towards other citizens.
He added that, not only in Montenegro but also in the region, there are two opposing views of the future.
“One is personified by the current composition of the government in Montenegro, which sees our countries in the European Union and in the European and Euro-Atlantic value system. By contrast, we have a very vivid nationalism from the 1990s, which woke up under new circumstances, some new incentives and who expects to turn the wheel of history backwards, I think it won't be possible, “said Djukanovic.
Explaining the possible reasons for the election results, Montenegro's president declares that discontent with the policy followed is possible to be an excuse for that.
It is possible that the simple discontent of people with some of the policies we followed, with the fact that the level of standards in society was not reached. Election results are vary from one cycle to another. All who think this is the adoption of all radical solutions in which the opposition believes,” said Djukanovic.
When it comes to forming a government, I believe we will soon see the result. I believe we will get an offer to form a government, but I don't want to speculate now,” he added.
Djukanovic says, however, that he is not tired of politics.
I'm not tired after 30 years. The work is exhausting, of course, but it's a pleasure to fight for the right ideas. It is easier to try to help your people from a governmental position, but it is not the only one. I'm here in every position,” said Djukanovic.
In parliamentary elections held on Sunday, the opposition coalitions “for Montenegro's future”, the black “on white” and “Peace is our nation”, won the majority by 41 seats in parliament, while Djukanovic's party and allies have secured 38 mandates.
