In memory of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attack in the United States, Parliament Speaker Vjosa Osmani, along with US Ambassador Philip Costet, have placed flower wreaths on the 11 September memorial plaque.
The American ambassador to Kosovo has said that the link Albanians have with Americans is very powerful and exceeds politics.
“Today is a reminder not only of the terrible event of September 11, 2001, but also of the close and stable partnership that the people of the United States and Kosovo have. This partnership exceeds politics. For two decades, the people of the United States and Kosovo have been together to fight terrorism and by trying to build a future of peace, justice and prosperity for people of both countries, as well as our neighbours”.
Kostett has said that justice must be sought for victims of this terrorist attack until he has demanded that it be worked for a better future.
It's important that when we remember such a day, we remember the sacrifices and losses, just as we remember the courage of policemen, firefighters and all those who were there first. We also remember the endurance of those who lost their families and survivors of those terrible days. We owe it to all of them to remember the past, to fight for justice, but also to build a better future for our children”.
