This is part of the plan for the new Xiongão area, a town near Beijing, which exceeds the vast area of London in its size, writes the Daily Mail.
Its high-tech devices, such as greenhouses, large balconys and 3D printers, will enable residents to live more comfortably in case of future quarantines.
The complex in Hebei Provinca will consist of wooden apartment blocks, roof gardens and will use renewable energy sources.
There will also be suitable terraces for use of drones and sufficient space to meet the needs of residents when they have to work from home.
Behind the project lies the Barcelona-based Gialart Architects, which last month won a tender in the design of the community in Hong Kong, which Chinese President Xi Jinping is promoting as a new “standard in the post-COVID-19” that could be implemented elsewhere.
The project will enable city dwellers to produce resources at the local level and secure all benefits “and, in case of closure,”, according to the architectural company.
