In her message of escape, warned, Sahin says she felt racism in Albania because of the Kosovo dialect: I'm disappointed with all those who worked against this big project. It has been unthinkable for me that the opposition would rise from the first day to attack our descent and dialect. To say that Albanians who speak the Kosovo dialect (or northern) are less intelligent or less clever is the epitomy of racism. Of course, racism can be called the same nation, but the same tactics are used cannot be denied. She said further that “Kritics have named me technical minister, but everyone knows very well that my commitment has been political. I showed high political accountability when I announced to the prime minister in July that I cannot continue for yet another mandate away from the family, therefore I must not hold such a political position before the SP's big battle for the next mandate, which I must take if we want Albania to walk before“.

Full Response

My engagement in Albania began three years ago, when through a call, the prime minister invited me to meet his team for possible co-operation with the Albanian government. I was an activist in Kosovo, and when advoco on education issues, I took Albania as an example to follow because reforms undertaken by the socialist government had produced measurable positive results.

I am fortunate to have had the honor of serving towards further improvement of the educational system, in Albania that I have loved to see from the outside, and I love it even stronger now that I know every corner of it. From Debra to Durres, from Puka to Saranda, I have met and listened to thousands of teachers and students, to understand how the educational system can become even more comprehensive, equal and quality, and offer better educational experience for all. But I have also understood how Albania's big heart beats, a country that does not kneel, but faces, is strengthened with every challenge and continues ahead. Never has this been seen more clearly and more clearly than after the earthquake and during the beginning of the pandemic, when people came together and stayed.

I am proud of the work we have done with “Paktin for University”, the main project that has ever been implemented in higher education, which in itself includes infrastructure investments, quality education interventions, and the financial share of stock exchanges and the halves of tariffs, which were felt by over 90 thousand students.

This year, we have also secured access to the antiplagiarism platform for all public universities. Unfortunately, this platform is not yet used enough. There is a difference between the need to maintain academic autonomy at universities and the way universities have used this autonomy, often contrary to efforts to increase the quality of education. There must be a way to force universities to ensure academic integrity. This is a promise we have given to students and the only form to overcome in improving the quality of education.

Critics have named me technical minister, but everyone knows very well that my commitment has been political. I have shown high political accountability when I announced to the prime minister in July that I cannot continue for yet another mandate away from the family, therefore I should not hold such a high political position before the SP's big battle for the next mandate, which I must take if we want Albania to move forward.

Also, the national union is not technical issues, so commitment to it, as I am committed, is political commitment. The courage the prime minister and the Socialist Party have shown to include political activists from Kosovo to governance in Albania shows commitment to a deepening Albanian national co-operation.

I'm disappointed with all those who worked against this big project.

The political daily battle between parties cannot harm relations between Albanians. For that reason, I will never stop working towards bringing our nation closer. It's the best gift we can leave to the generations to come.

I will also commit to the left: a new and democratic left, despite the old and populist left. A left that further includes feminist discurs rather than merely representing women in government, which the Socialist Party has done very well, but is not enough to fight patriarchism.

I will support the new Minister Evis Kushi even beyond the work delivery, to ensure the continuation of key projects, and will always be available to any contribution I can offer to the Albanian government.
