Who benefits from the 87m-euro fund for economic recovery

Kosovo's government has voted today to divide means into the fund for economic recovery, which is divided as a subsidisation for the cost of wages that businesses in Kosovo have. 87m euros is the total amount on which businesses, households with social assistance, farmers, fields of entrepreneurship, institutions of culture, public enterprises, households from non-communal communities and promotion of women's employment.
After the Kosovo Government meeting, Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti said in the coming days the Ministry of Finance would proceed with payments for all categories that are set to support.
“From 87m euros, 60m euros will be supported by businesses, depending on the number of employees they have, we will simplify this issue to the maximum by not asking businesses to apply to the Ministry of Finance to receive these funds, but we will use very simple criteria based on the number of workers who have businesses in December 2019... The second, out of this amount of 7.5m euros will be earmarked for social assistance to households that are in social assistance, additional from regular assistance received, will receive 7.5m euros for October until December, third, the agriculture ministry has been allocated to the amount of 12m euros for doubling farm subsidies”, Hoti said.
All farmers who receive agricultural subsidies will receive double subsidies to overcome the pandemic-made situation with COVID-19.
At today's government gathering, another 1m euros were allocated for entrepreneurship, 1m for public enterprises that are in trouble as a result of the pandemic, 2.5 million for artists, cultural institutions that are within the framework of MKRS, organisations promoting culture in Kosovo and sports federations.
Out of the 87 million fund, 1 million go to the Regional Development Ministry, 1m for the community office, these means destined for families from non-communal communities that are in a difficult material situation.
The executive also voted for the 1m-euro division of the Agency for Gender Equality, aimed at promoting women's employment in different sectors.
