At the Constitutional Court of Gjilan, sessions have been started against 30 people who were arrested in the Kosovo Police Action in the village of Karacheva.
Those arrested, including policemen, have appeared before the judge of the preliminary procedure.
The police were arrested on suspicion of misusing official duty.
At a media conference held on Saturday, the chief prosecutor of the Constitutional Prosecutorship in Gjilan, Jeanish Maloku, has detailed the operation. According to him, Kosovo Police have managed to arrest 35 people, including 12 police officers.
Maloku has also announced that a number of questionable materials have been confiscated.
“Foundation Procurory in Gjilan, following a nearly 1-year-old long investigation, has carried out action in this part of Kosovo specifically in the village of Karacheva, Kamenica municipality, as well as in the Pristina region and other regions. Of this action by order of the prosecution, 35 suspects have so far been arrested by 12 police officials, smugglers and casino owners”, Maloku has said.
Also, 12 objects of gambling and game were destroyed in this action.
The action was carried out with co-operation by the Founding Prosecutor in Gjilan, the Kosovo Police and the Police Inspectorate.
