Albania third in Europe with population death rates

According to Eurostat and INSTAT data referring to 2017, there were a total of 68 victims in the country, of whom 56 were male and 12 were female. According to that year's population, published by INSTAT, 2.36 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants are estimated.
Eurostat reports that in 2017, Latvia registered its highest death rate in connection with attacks of 3.75 deaths per 100,000 among European Union member states. Another Baltic member state, Lithuania had this indicator of 2,82 deaths related to attacks of 100,000 people, ranking second.
After Albania, Malta and Romania come at 1.6 and 1.5 deaths per 100,000, respectively.
Of the countries in the region, there are 1.3 resulting death attacks in Serbia in relation to the population. In Turkey, this indicator is 1.7.
The European Union average is 0.7 victims of the 100,000 murders.
At the opposite end of the scale, Luxembourg registered the lowest rate of deaths due to attacks (0.2), followed by Germany and Ireland (both 0.4), France (which was 2016 data), Italy and Slovakia (last three registered a rate of 0.5).
According to Eurostat, in 2016 a total of 3,124 people died as a result of an attack on the European Union. That figure was 312 less than a year ago and 901 less than in 2011. Most of the victims were men (65 percent).
The death rate of the attacks stood at 0.7 per 100,000 in 2016 and has been in a steady decline since 2011 (when it was 0.9 deaths per 100,000).
In Albania, the highest number of victims from the killings in the last five years was recorded in 2016, with 99 lives loss, dropping to 68 in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
In 2019 there were a total of 75 casualties, of which 13 (or 17 percent) were female. According to the population, the victims of the 100,000 population murders increased to 2,62, from 2.36 to 2017.
In 2019, the number of people injured for attempted attempted murder has dropped sharply to 93 from 150 last year.
