Abraham: Up to 30 percent of people affected in the last three weeks

So says KosovoPress, executive director of the Kosovo Association, Sazan Ibrahimi, who, among other things, shows that the situation is manageable at the local level.

The number of those infected by COVID is on the decline. And it's found that at the local level this percentage is 10-30 percent, depending on the municipalities. But it is seen that in large municipalities the level or percentage of those infected in relation to middle or small municipalities is slightly higher. But the local level situation is manageable. The mayors, but also municipal health directors, who have worked hard not to load the main hospital centre”, he said.
Ibrahimi says they have discussed the idea of easing the measures, but since on September 14th the start of the new school year, the anti committee is expected CO VID-19 has decided that the measures for now will not be eased. However, it shows that after two or three weeks the measure will be revised.
Among other things, it shows that municipalities are ready for the start of the new school year. If a school in a certain municipality fails to meet the criteria, Ibrahim says it will not block learning throughout the territory.
He has also talked about testing teachers, until he adds that this process has been conducted in Prizren and is continuing in Dragash, Istog, Peja and Ferizaj.
The “is found to be a sample from 1,000 to 1500 teachers in the entire territory of Kosovo, dividing it as seven regions. From two to three municipalities in one area will be tested. The lists will be sent by the Education Directorate. Depending on the size of the municipality, between 50 and 80 or 100 teachers will be tested. And in general, about 1500 of the more than 20,000 teachers in Kosovo will be tested, so that a percentage of what the number of infected educators, Ibrahim says.
Sahan Ibrahimi announces the testing for COVID-19 will take place in 15 municipalities. Among other things, he says he is willing of several municipalities for Serological testing, according to him, the central level has expressed readiness to support municipalities to offer some free tests.
Some of the municipalities are available, but they have encountered bureaucratic processes in terms of taking and buying serological tests from serological test providers. I believe very soon those municipalities, which have expressed readiness and have financial means, will start with serial testing”, he said.
Since the outbreak of pandemic on March 13th, more than 14,000 people in Kosovo have been confirmed, over 10,000 have recovered, while 563 have lost their battle with dangerous disease.
