For the September 4th meeting at the White House, Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has travelled to Washington himself.
Following him, Hoti has taken seven other government officials, including his deputy, Albulen Balaj of the Initiative and Driton Selmanaj, ministers, Melza Haradinaj, Arba Abrashi and Selim Selim Selimi, state dialogue co-ordinator Skender Hyseni, as well as Prime Minister Ardita Dushi's cabinet chief.
The number of senior officials who have travelled to the US is quite high compared to Serbia's delegation, which is due today for Washington.
Four Serbian officials, twice the number of government officials from Kosovo, will already travel at the US helm for the meeting with Kosovo.
The Serbian delegation will be led by the president, Aleksandar Vuciq.
It will also be the director of the so-called Office for Kosovo, Marko Djurovic. Finance Minister Sinisa Mali will also be part of the delegation together with Chamber of Commerce Chairman Marko Cadez.
Such a high number of members of the Kosovo delegation are seen as totally unnecessary for the important meeting, held Friday this week.
Hoti and his government are going to this meeting without the support of the opposition, whose parties the prime minister has sent invitation for participation, but who have rejected the same.
However, this is not the first time when Kosovo post-war government officials have gone to an end for meetings in foreign states.
In this form, governments are accused of misusing public money.
