According to a familiar person with this situation, Noem later hosted US President Donald Trump when he visited South Dakota for the July 4th celebration at the monument with a copy of Mount Rushmoret, where Trump's face was in it.
Noem observed earlier “Truymp's dream of having his face on Mount Rushmore, Coolridge-era sculpture, in which the faces of presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln of Theodore Roosevelt are found.
According to an interview in 2018, they had talked about sculpture during a meeting in the Oval Office. She had initially thought Trump was joking.
I started laughing. But he wasn't laughing, he was very serious. He said, "Crest, come here. Give me your hand, and I said, "Z." President, you should come to South Dakota sometime. We got Mount Rushmore there. And he told me, "Do you know it's my dream to have my face on Mount Rushmore?
