In the last period in Kosovo, a record number of those infected with the new choreography has been registered, as well as a growing number of deaths as a result of COVID-19.
From July 27th to August 3rd, over 1,500 new cases of the infected and about 50 victims have been recorded.
Sanitary Chief Inspector in Kosovo Ibrahim Tersnjak told Radio Free Europe that in the last seven days, the Sanitary Inspectorate, has conducted over 2,000 raids on the entire territory of Kosovo, and that case it has pronounced 923 fines for individuals, 80 for legal persons, as well as certificates and mandatory isolation have been handed over to 756 persons.
He says the inspectors, backed by Kosovo Police, are on patrol every day from 0500 till midnight.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Health Ministry spokesman Faik Hoti says it is clear that a high number of the infected are being registered every day, and he links this situation with disrespecting measures on the part of young people.
“The inspection teams and police have pronounced a large number of fines for citizens in recent days for disrespect of the measures. We are all responsible for the epidemiological situation in the country, institutions, businessmen and citizens themselves”, Hoti said in a written response to Radio Free Europe.
The latest package of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the coronary has been approved by the Government of Kosovo on July 28th, and envisions limited movement of citizens from 10:30 to 0500 in several municipalities that have a high number of infected persons.
One of the measures is the mandatory wearing of a mask.
