The request of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation to amend the Special Court (S specialised Chambers) is not certain to be considered in the Kosovo Assembly.
The Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army has called on parliamentary groups that through the ratification of this law, the Special Court will investigate all crimes that have occurred in Kosovo.
Kosovo Assembly MPs are divided in support of this requirement. Democratic League of Kosovo MP Fetah Rudi tells Radio Free Europe he will not support this request of veterans.
Former soldier of The KLA says the Special Court is not founded to condemn the KLA war, but according to him, only those who have killed innocent people must be punished.
The “will not be supported by MPs, nor will it be prosecuted in the Parliament when it is known that this court was formed by the deputies of the Kosovo Parliament for crimes committed during and after the war. This court has not been formed to condemn the KLA war because it is known that its war was pure. This court has been formed for war and post-war killings and they must be cleared of this court, as UNMIK and EULEX and our justice failed even though they had enough arguments”, says Rudi.
Quite another opinion has Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP Rasim Selmanaj. He says this requirement will be supported by former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's party.
The request to investigate all crimes, especially Serbia in Kosovo, is a fair and natural initiative. I personally, and I believe that the AAK Parliamentary Group, whatever initiative it has to do with this change, is acceptable and we support it”, says Selmanaj.
Free Europe Radio has also contacted other parties. The two largest opposition parties -- the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic Party of Kosovo -- have refused to talk about the issue.
Director of the Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army several times called it <x0-racist and unilateral” this Court, as they say it will not even investigate Serbian crimes in Kosovo.
