Veliu says situation with COVID-19 in Kosovo is very serious

In this case, Minister Veliu announced to Prime Minister Muhajeri for the recent meeting of the Inter-Institution for Incident Management, in which, in addition, the full return of the municipal emergency headquarters, which, however, must be led and co-ordinated by mayors of municipalities, was required.

Veliu stressed that the situation with the pandemic is very serious and demanded that citizens be appealed to, especially those with institutional responsibility, including the mayors, to be at the helm, with the goal of implementing the Kosovo Government's decisions on preventing COVID-19.

This meeting was also discussed in connection with the functioning of the Law on Public Officials, especially after the Constitutional Court's decision, with the aim of quick access to staff recruiting according to the needs of relevant institutions.

Veliu said such demands have many other state institutions, while simultaneously promising to speed up materialisation of the provisions of this law as soon as possible.
